Hot Rolled Steel Plate
Classification :
Product Description
Produced by heating slabs above recrystallization temperature and rolling to desired thickness. Features a dark, scaled surface (as-rolled) or optional pickled and oiled finish for improved cleanliness. Offers excellent formability, weldability, and structural strength. Available in a wide range of grades including carbon steel (Q195, Q235, Q345, SS400, S235JR, S355), alloy steel, and weathering steel. Typical thickness from 1.5mm to 20mm, with wider width compared to cold rolled sheets. Surface condition: hot rolled, pickled and oiled, or blasted. Easy to cut, bend, and hot form. Custom sizes and edge conditions (mill edge or slit edge) available.

Application description:
Hot rolled steel sheet is widely used in construction (structural beams, bridges, railway tracks), automotive (chassis, wheels, truck frames), and general manufacturing (shipping containers, storage tanks, pipe and tube forming). It also serves in agricultural equipment, machinery components, and heavy-duty industrial applications where surface finish is less critical than strength and formability. Its cost-effectiveness makes it ideal for large-scale structural projects.

Production description
The process begins with continuous casting of molten steel into slabs. Slabs are reheated in a furnace to around 1200–1300°C, then descaled and passed through roughing mills to reduce thickness. The rough bar enters a finishing mill train where it is rolled to the target gauge at high temperature. After rolling, the strip is cooled by laminar water flow on a runout table to achieve desired mechanical properties. It is then coiled at high speed. The hot rolled coil may be pickled in acid to remove scale and oiled for improved surface quality and corrosion resistance. Final products are leveled, cut to sheet length or slit, inspected, and packed for delivery.

Shipping Packaging
For export shipment, hot rolled steel sheets are stacked with edge protectors, secured by heavy-duty steel straps, and packed on fumigation-certified wooden pallets or steel skids. Moisture-resistant wrapping is added for pickled and oiled sheets. Labels include grade, dimensions, and heat number for safe transport.
